Graduate Students

Card Issuance

For most graduate students, ID cards are issued in-person at the Campus Card Office located in Grace Hall 423. You must complete registration and have the necessary documentation (driver's license, passport, or state issued ID card) in order to obtain a card. Some graduate programs may require their students submit photos in advance of arriving to campus so that cards can be preprinted and issued at program orientations. If you are required to submit a photo your program coordinator will communicate this.

Access

The building/facility access you'll need gets automatically assigned to your card. Examples include RecSports facilities and Hesburgh Library access. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required along with your campus ID card when accessing some of the restricted areas. The 4-digit PIN is automatically assigned once your card is printed. Please click here to view or change your PIN and be sure to keep it confidential! Note: To access the PIN page you must be using restricted campus WiFi (eduroam), or be logged into the VPN. Take good care of your card and should you lose it, report it "lost" right away. If you have questions contact the Campus Card Office.

Dining

Graduate students are able to purchase meal plans for use at campus dining halls and retail locations. Information on available dining plans can be found here.  You can check to see the balance of an active meal plan at get.nd.edu.

Purchasing

Your card can be used for making purchases both on and off-campus. The two types of accounts students use are Flex Points and Domer Dollars. Flex Points are loaded onto your card as part of a meal plan and can be used at Campus Dining locations. Domer Dollars is a convenient campus debit account, which allows funds to be added to your card via a credit/debit card. Once added, Domer Dollars can be used to make purchases at all campus retail locations and select off-campus locations. More information on Domer Dollars can be found here. You can check the balance of these accounts, or view transaction history by logging-in at get.nd.edu.

Events

There are many campus events that require verification of your campus ID card for entry. You should always be ready to provide your campus ID card for verification, so it's best to have your card with you at all times.

Transportation

The South Bend Bus service (Transpo) is available for free with an active Notre Dame ID card.
